My name is Michelle Wetzel. My husband Nate and I are part of a trucking family. My husband drives truck, and I used to until the kids came along. After that, I found a corporate job for the insurance (isn’t that what everyone with children does?) but I kept my CDL up because, well you never know what will happen with work, and the world will always need truck drivers.
We have three kids 8 and under, and they are the reason I started making kid-friendly semi-truck art.
When my oldest boy was 6, he wanted coloring pages with his dad’s semi truck in them, and I searched Pinterest, Etsy and the google machine. Nothing.
So I decided to start drawing my own and I called the coloring book “Duck Duck Semi Truck”. I made one version without ducks, and one version with all the ducks on the off pages getting into mischief.

We live near Kasson, MN, and they have a huge truck show called Big Iron Classic on the weekend after Labor Day, every year. This year, 2023, was amazing. The weather was beautiful, and it was my first show as a vendor.
If you were at Big Iron 2023, you possibly were accosted by short people wielding business cards with Duck Duck Semi Truck on them. Those were either my kids or my nephews. They are excited for 2024 and are already making what they call their “Big Iron” plans. !
